The ACCESS CHINA Boston Forum, jointly organized by YAFO Capital, CHBD, CEIBS, ChemPartner, and Global Law Office, concluded successfully on June 4th at Seaport Hotel in Boston. This grand event brought together around 150 executives and BD representatives from pharmaceutical companies and investment institutions worldwide to discuss the latest trends and achievements in Asian countries such as China, Japan, and South Korea. The forum revolved around the theme of "Asian Innovation and Cross-border Partnering" and featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, company presentations, and the ChemPartner-ACCESS CHINA Reception Dinner, serving as an important platform for exchanges and cooperation in the pharmaceutical field.

Novamab: Dr. Wan Yakun, the CEO, presented the latest update on their leading inhaled nanobodies innovation. Novamab is a leading innovator in inhaled nanobodies, focusing on the development of life-changing therapeutic drugs for patients. Their core expertise lies in the research and development of innovative single domain antibody (sdAb) drugs, aiming to make treatments for respiratory diseases more convenient and effective. With a pioneering inhaled large molecule drug development platform, Novamab targets a wide range of respiratory system diseases, including Asthma, COPD, IPF, CF, and more. Their clinical pipeline boasts two first-in-class sdAb inhaled products, currently in advanced stages of clinical development.

Astrocyte: CEO William Korinek introduced the company's innovative project focused on developing novel brain-protective therapies for patients with brain injuries. Their research primarily targets brain injuries caused by neurodegenerative diseases such as stroke, concussion, and Alzheimer's disease.

Chuangte Biotech: Their CEO presented their lead asset, a potential best-in-class RET mutation inhibitor for the treatment of various tumors. Chuangte Biotech is an innovative biopharmaceutical company specializing in innovative drug research, technology transfer, and the industrialization of pharmaceutical products. Their focus areas include oncology, cerebrovascular, and respiratory diseases, with a commitment to providing innovative products for patients.

TOSK: Represented by BD Director Mateo Needham, the company shared their research and development progress. TOSK is dedicated to developing new drugs that improve existing treatment regimens by reducing adverse reactions and enhancing safety and efficacy. They have recently developed a new technology for discovering drugs that can inhibit cancer gene activity.

Evive Biotech: A representative from Evive Biotech shared the latest update on their lead asset, a recombinant human IL-22 dimer fusion protein. Evive is a global biopharmaceutical company devoted to developing a portfolio of novel biological therapies for oncology, inflammatory, and metabolic diseases using their proprietary technology platforms.

XtalPi: CSO Dr. Zhang Peiyu introduced the groundbreaking scientific advancements of the company to the attendees. XtalPi is an intelligent and automation-driven pharmaceutical research technology company that provides integrated solutions for drug discovery to global biopharmaceutical enterprises.

Elixiron: Founder & CMO Kevin Chen presented the update on the company and their lead asset anti-IFN-γ antibody.

Immunophage: CEO Guohuang Fan presented the latest developments of the company and their rich pipeline. Immunophage is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company in China focused on immune regulation, discovering new targets and signalling pathways to precisely regulate the immune system, and providing the potentially best treatment options for malignant tumor, autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic diseases.

Spektar Therapeutics: CEO Zarvaan Merchant introduced to the attendees the company's sustained-release tablet project for depression.

MindRank: Sree Vadlamudi, Head of Strategy and Corporate Development, shared the latest updates on their AI platform and their small molecule agonist of GLP-1R asset. The company has a one-stop AI-driven drug discovery platform. Within a few months of its establishment, the company has carried out commercial cooperation with a number of listed pharmaceutical companies and has been recognized.

In addition to the exciting roadshow sessions, we also had a panel discussion on "Building Effective Partnership in Asia: Strategies for Collaboration and Growth." This discussion was moderated by Kun Tao, US Head & Managing Partner of YAFO Capital. The panelists include Ying Niu, China Search and Evaluation Lead at Pfizer; Haru Sugino, Global Head of Search and Evaluation; and Global Business Development at Otsuka Pharmaceutical; Vishal Doshi, CEO of AUM Biosciences; and Li Zhu, CSO of Genscript. They explored strategies for establishing effective partnerships in Asia and shared valuable insights and takeaways for the attendees.
